


UGF Poster/T-Shirt Contest
The United Givers Fund of Jackson County is hosting a Poster/T-Shirt contest
for 7th & 8th grades in the Jackson County & Scottsboro City School Systems
(guidelines for entries are attached). Each student's poster should represent
the mission of UGF, which is to unite everyone in making a difference in the lives
of our neighbors who need social, health, and human services in Jackson County.
The United Givers Fund collects donations from groups and individuals from all
across the county in order to give financial support to the local programs that
provide these services. The UGF currently helps 18 organizations in Jackson
County to meet the needs of others. These organizations are listed below:
- American Red Cross, Jackson County Chapter
- The ARC of Jackson County
- Greater Alabama Council Boy Scouts of America
- Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Alabama - Ben Sanford Center
- Bridgeport Housing Authority Children's Program
- Care Assurance System for the Aging (CASA)
- Christmas Charities of Jackson County
- Community Action Agency
- Crisis Services of North Alabama
- Easter Seal Society, Jackson County Chapter
- Friends of the Family
- Girl Scouts of North Alabama
- Impact Learning Center
- Jackson County 4-H Clubs
- Jackson County Foster Children
- Northeast Alabama Health Services
- Stevenson Friends of the Library
- Tennessee Valley Family Services
RULES FOR THE CONTEST:
Participants: 7th & 8th graders in Jackson County & Scottsboro City Schools
Materials: Poster should be 8 ½" x 14"
Design should be "suitable for use as a T-Shirt design."
Note that the original design may be altered to fit T-shirt.
Poster should be drawn in pencil or black pen. We do not want color as the
UGF Board will decide colors with T-shirt color selection.
Please DO NOT USE THE UNITED WAY LOGO.
Name, Grade & School should be listed on the back of the poster.
Poster should depict--
"JACKSON COUNTY PEOPLE WORKING TO HELP EACH OTHER"
A school committee should pick the top 3 winners to represent their school.
All posters should be turned in to their school office by Thursday, May 1st.
They will then be sent to the respective Boards of Education Offices by Friday, May 9th.
They will then be collected on Monday, May 12th and taken to the IMPACT Learning Center
for judging on May 14th with award winner to be announced on May 16th.
PRIZES:
1st Place Winner - $100+ Gift Basket
(Includes gift cards, money, gift certificates)
The first place winning poster will be used as the design
for our T-shirt that will be used during the kick-off campaign
2nd Place Winner - $50 Gift Basket
(Includes gift cards, money, gift certificates)
3rd Place Winner - $25 Gift Basket
